28 Years Later!

We have been very blessed in our 28 years of marriage. Four smart, beautiful daughters, a home, employment and good health. We are grateful for the gospel which gives us strength to handle our trials. Here's hoping we're blessed with 28 more fantastic years.

Mother's Day Flowers!

Jim gave me these beautiful roses.  I love the salmon color.

I had to put them on my kitchen floor to get a good view of the tops of the flowers.

Banner has been taking a floriculture class at the High School this semester.  This is her Mother's Day arrangement.

Bless her heart, she gave it to me.  This is the 4th arrangement she has done, they have all been beautiful.  Happy Mother's Day to all of you Mother's on sunday.

Dancesport 2012

Banner and I met Whitney, Sara and Hannah in Provo yesterday for the Dancesport Championships
After a quick trip to the mall, and lunch at Ruby River with Noah and Becky, we headed up to the BYU campus.

The first event on saturday afternoon was the Caberet dancing.  This guy was supposed to be a gladiator but he was modest so he wore pants and a flesh colored T-shirt.

We soon figured out that he wasn't there for his dancing ability but for his brawn.

We then watched the Pre-teen ballroom division.

These children were amazing.  They did so well for being 12 years and under.

This young girl and her partner were one of our favorites.

It was so fun to watch!

Next was the under 21 division.  This was our couple from Utah that ended up taking 3rd place.

This poor brother and sister duo had a trying day.  He must've had the stomach flu and kept leaving between dances to be sick.

Here she is waiting for him to come back on the floor for the next dance.

The other couples waited patiently.  It was kind of amusing when we saw a BYU employee running out with a garbage can.

This year they had an event that we had never seen before.  Children from 13 elementary schools came(280 to be exact) and performed different dances like the cha-cha, fox trot and swing.  They earned Bronze, Silver or Gold medals.  This would be such a fun program to have in a school.

It was time for the final of the under 21 division,  Stomach flu boy made it through a couple of dances but then couldn't make it, passed out and pulled his sister to the floor with him.  They stopped the music and called for a "doctor in the house".  A few people ran to the floor and then people started bringing drinks.
Gatorade, powerade, sprite, water and then last of all, a gallon of cranberry juice.  We were laughing so hard because everyone who came to the floor brought a drink.  I don't know how they thought he could drink that much.
He finally came to and they got him off the floor.
This man had the job of carting off the drinks.

We then had to endure the team formation dancing.  It wouldn't have been so bad but we had to watch almost all of them twice.

Finally we got to see the under 21 latin dancing.

The couple in the pink was one of the best.  In fact I think they won 3rd place.

Another very talented couple.

It was such a fun day and we had a very good time together.  I can't wait until next year.

A New Laurel!

Tennyson baked a delicious peanut butter cake with milk chocolate frosting for Banner's 16th birthday.

All of the candles were blown out in one breath.

Banner can now drive herself to school, piano lessons, Young Women's and church plus run to the store for me.

The newest Laurel in the OV1!
