New Post on Whit's Blog

I posted a picture of Whitney's district on her blog if you want to check it out.

Recipe for Gooey Carmel Rolls

These are the rolls that Jim's mother made for us on Christmas morning.

1(22) package Rhodes frozen dinner rolls
1(3 1/2 ounce) box Butterscotch pudding mix (not instant)
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup pecan pieces

All this is done the night before. Spray your Bundt pan well and place evenly the frozen rolls.
Sprinkle the dry pudding evenly on top of the rolls and sprinkle pecan pieces over the pudding powder. Heat the butter to just melted, and stir in brown sugar. If the butter is too hot brown sugar will separate and be hard to blend together. Pour brown sugar syrup over rolls evenly.

Place pan in the cold oven overnight.

The next morning turn your oven to 325 degrees. Check the rolls before turning on the oven to see if they rose over the top pf the pan. If they did gently push the rolls haging over back gently.

Leave rolls in heating oven.

Bake about 25 minutes, until rolls seem firm on top and done in the middle.

Remove from oven and let cool 5-10 minutes

Turn over on a pizza pan or platter and serve.

(Use only 22 rolls, more will overflow the pan)

San Rafael vs. Canyon View

Tennyson's Varsity team lost in a heartbreaking triple overtime game last evening. She was worn out by the end of it and had a few bumps and bruises, but it was a good game. A thriller right to the end!

It was a very physical game but she lived to complain about the officiating which I have to say was a little lopsided.

WNBA here she comes!

Banner's Birthday

Banner's 12th birthday was a good day. She got to show off her ballroom dancing skills at the High School and then have her family come to our house for a party. I made a delicious peanut butter cake with milk chocolate frosting. She got some good presents. She now is ready to enter the Young Women's program. We're very proud of her for earning her Faith in God Award.

Happy New Year

My days are very quiet now that the holidays are over. The girls are back in school and Jim is at work and I just ramble around this house doing my housework. At least I have the cats for company. We got another email from Whitney on Wednesday, I know some of you got it because I forwarded it to you. For those of you that didn't get it, she is doing very well. She sounds like a new and improved Whit already, she even wrote a short testimony in Spanish. Luckily I have an English-Spanish dictionary so I was able to look up the words that were unfamiliar to me. She's very busy and studying hard, which is good.

We're preparing for Banner's 12th birthday on tuesday. She will go into Young Women's the following sunday. I think she is excited. I look at my girls now and wonder where the time went, it seems like yesterday they were little pre-schoolers.
I don't feel old but I must be getting there to have grown-up daughters.

We can't wait for that new baby to get here.
Happy New Year to everyone!
