She's Off!
Tennyson, Banner and I were able to talk to Whitney for about 40 minutes on Sunday night. She called us from the Salt Lake airport. She sounded excited but nervous. I haven't heard from her since but I assume she arrived as scheduled. Her Dad has already had a dream about her being kidnapped by revolutionaries(are there any in Honduras?). As soon as we hear from her we will let you know.

I'm so excited for her. I can't wait to hear the first letter. I'm sure it will be full of great stuff about where she is and her companion and about the Hondurans! I'm so happy for her!

She called me and we got a chance to talk. She was funnier than ever. She didn't seem too nervous, just excited. I can't beleive she is really there. So far away. Hopefully she'll just love it and catch on to everything real quick. Tell Jim to calm down with the anxiety. She'll be fine.
I don't understand. Do we just mail a letter and put a sticker on it or something to keep it closed? No envelopes?
OK, so I read the info about mailing Whitney and I wasn't sure either about the letters. No envelopes? I guess that could makes some sense, since it goes in a pouch from the church. ai'm so glad she called you and was happy and excited to go. She's having culture shock right now and won't be done with it for about a month. Hopefully, she won't offend too many people by asking stupid questions like I did. I just hope she will see how wonderful the Hondurans are and how much love she has to give them. She will be fine. I haven't heard that revolutionaries are something to worry about. I'd be more worried about the bugs, germs, and slobbery kisses from young boys. I'm just assuming they kiss upon greeting each other like they do in Argentina. It'll be a fun first letter that you get from her. Can't wait to hear all about it.
i've been thinking about her alot since wednesday. i will email her tomorrow, but i will also try to send her a letter. i'm pretty bad about that, but will try to get myself in gear. liz
